Bill Mathews
Born in Albany, NY in 1947, I graduated from Colonie Central High School in '65, and the University of Buffalo in '69. I worked for a short time as a physical therapist in Rochester, NY before being drafted. I chose the Air Force over the Army, eventually became a pilot, and retired after 34 years of service and 7,000 hours of flying.
After retiring, I began jotting down little anecdotes I remembered about my best friend and me growing up in the '60s... and one day, decided to write a story about us. The title, Suz, An Unromantic Love Story, came to me in a flash... the next 94,000 words took 5 years.
